This past Wednesday we kicked off Summer a littler early with a Paint War. We wanted students to be excited for everything that’s ahead this summer and what better way then with hot dogs, worship, a short message, and a paint war?
Our students hand an absolute blast! We rented a pavilion at a near-by park where we grilled hot dogs, socialized, threw the ball & frisbee, played 9-square, worshiped, jumped into the Word, and then had our paint war. This is a great summer event that you can pull off! With minimal supplies, you can host your own paint war…and it’s totally worth is simply for the fun, community, and awesome pictures!
I HIGHLY encourage you to host your own paint war. And here’s the deal, I’m going to make it easy for you. Click the button below and I will send you a Paint War Cheat Sheet with all the details/graphics/supplies/rules you will need to pull off your own Paint War! You’re Welcome! Enjoy!
I love it! I’ve been wanting to do a paint or tie-dye related event. We’ve done a food fight for the past two years with our youth group, maybe next year we’ll change it up with a paint fight; it’d definitely be cheaper and the students may like the change up, too.
Here’s my blog on how we threw our own food fight if you’d like to check it out. 🙂

Samantha, Thanks for sharing! Food wars are a blast!
This is awesome. Thanks putting putting that file together. Can you give any details to how you diluted the paint? Do you know how long it took for the paint to come off the grass? Will one good rain take it out? We have a field next to our church that we’ll play in. Just wanted to tell my leadership that the paint WILL wash away in a short amount of time.
Hey Jon! Diluting the paint is not an exact science, you have to keep and eye on it as you want the paint to be “flingable” but not watery. If you don’t dilute it enough it will be hard to fling and you won’t have as much to play with. If you over-water, it will be like watercolor and wont stick to people. Start with one color, add slowly until you get the right consistency, then repeat with the other colors.
The paint is non-toxic and washable, so it should come out of the grass with a couple rains and mows. You might have a little sitting around, but nothing long-term. Hope this helps!
I can’t get the cheat sheet to load. It asks for my email, I provide it, and then it takes me to a thank you page. is the cheat sheet available?
Hey Christy! Yes, it will email you a .zip file with everything including graphics! Make sure you check your promotions folder if you use gmail! Enjoy!
